and welcome to the college life.
Haha, at least, that's what it feels like right now. So, for those of you who weren't notified or are clued out..Back in April, I signed up for an opportunity to be a part of a 3 week program at LaVerne University. It was a long ass rigorous process to get accepted because I chose to be part of the STEM Science department instead of the typical BUSINESS Camp department. In doing so, I had to write personal statements, go through interviews, get recommendations, and other time consuming tasks. Finally, in early June, I found out that I was accepted into the program and that my best, best friend Alicia, and my bestest cousin, Linh were accepted into the program along with me! Super blessed because out of all the people in these competing school districts, I was chosen as a participant..and not only that, two of my mains will be experiencing it with me!
Basically what the program does is give high school students the chance to learn about a particular area that they plan on majoring in, with the college experience. And no, no no, this is not like taking those AP classes at school, because let me tell you, I have plenty of those classes in my schedule to keep me busy all year. I'll be dorming there for 3 weeks and taking classes..it should be a great experience. I'll get college creds and scholarships so this will all be worth the while. Ohh, and I mosdef can't wait to meet new people..people who are probably scared out of their minds, so I know I'll have to be the not-so-shy one, and introduce myself to people---cus that's how it usually is.
I can't wait though..I'll be visiting different cities too on certain days when I don't have school and the down-time should be chill when we're all just talking bout whatever in our dorms. Ahh, I've been packing for hours now, including last night, and I can't fit anything in my luggage! Hehe..This always happens...but yeah, so I'll be back on Friday nights and then leave on Sunday mornings, so it won't be THAT bad. But...basically, for now, my overall social life is on hold. For the good though, I've had my fair share of fun nights and good-lovin so send ya girl a text, IM, comment, or call here and there. I'll be missing you all. :)
Muah,
B
